Billing Specialist – Mental Health & Behavioral Health Billing (AdvancedMD)

Strive Rehabilitation Partners is a leading behavioral health organization providing inpatient rehabilitation psychology services across multiple states. This position also supports billing operations for our affiliated outpatient practice, Mental Health Houston, a Houston-based behavioral health clinic. We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist with strong AdvancedMD expertise to join our team on site in Houston, Texas.

Position Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for full-cycle mental health and behavioral health billing for both inpatient and outpatient services. This role requires advanced proficiency in AdvancedMD, strong knowledge of mental health CPT and ICD-10 coding, and experience working with commercial and government payers. This is an on-site position based in our Houston office.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle mental health and behavioral health billing

• Manage charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting in AdvancedMD

• Track, follow up on, and resolve claim denials and rejections

• Reconcile accounts receivable and identify underpayments

• Ensure compliance with payer requirements and billing regulations

• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and compliance teams

• Support billing audits, reporting, and payer inquiries

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of mental health or behavioral health billing experience

• AdvancedMD billing experience required

• Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and mental health billing rules

• Experience with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid

• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hospital-based, inpatient rehabilitation, or outpatient mental health billing

• Experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity practices

• Familiarity with Texas and Houston-area payers
